This technique expands the teeth to both left and right so that the saw teeth would not be stuck into the wood. A workman with great experienced and great sense is needed for this technique as the saw would not go through the wood if the teeth is too wide or too narrow. HACHIEMON Sentei Handsaw PRO has less sets in comparison to other saws for woodwork so as not to damage the live tree.

Horizontal polishing
This process widens the thickness of the edge of the teeth and makes the teeth thinner as it goes in the opposite direction. It provides a clean cut even if you are using it on a live tree which would require a large teeth pitch by polishing the back of the saw teeth thinly.

HACHIEMON Sentei Handsaw PRO uses traditional Japanese techniques such as “the set” and “horizontal polishing”, which renders the teeth extremely sharp and provides a surprising smoothness when slicing into things.
Compared to a saw designed for woodwork, this has less sets and its surface is buffed so it would not damage the live tree – cutting through the tree smoothly and cleanly.
The blade has been impulse hardened and electroless nickel plated, thus it has repeatedly gone through extreme high heats and cooled off in rapid successions, so it has a long lifespan and would not rust easily.
It has a wooden sheath and so it is curved to better fit ones’ grasp and it is ideal for gardening work.
